The first item this time is from Jim Mills of Randolph. His grandson, Kyle Martell, is an accomplished racer. Kyle brought home The RUSH Touring Series Feature Win at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Brookville, Pa., recently.

This was the first Touring Series race for 2017, which earned Kyle an $800 purse. Kyle placed second in his heat race. The pill re-draw worked in Kyle's favor for a change and put him on the pole position for the 23-car field. There were three cautions and restarts before the first lap was counted. Kyle led 19 of the first 20 laps, he dropped into a rut and dropped back to third after eight or nine restarts due to cautions after crashes.

On lap 22, the lead cars crashed while battling for the $800 purse. The 83 car ended upside down and the 41 car was dead on the track, which gave the lead back to Kyle under the red flag.

During the long red flag period it started to rain. Once the crash was cleaned up and one of the drivers transported to the hospital, the yellow and checkered flags came out with three laps to go.

Great job, Kyle, keep up the great work.
